TT electronics achieve a First in Rail IRIS certification 

Rogerstone, South Wales facility becomes the UK’s first manufacturing site to achieve the IRIS Revision 02- Rail Industry Standard 

WEYBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM, March 31, 2010 – TT electronics integrated manufacturing services, an award-winning EMS provider of low-volume, high-mix electronics design, manufacturing and product management services announced today that its Rogerstone, South Wales plant has become the United Kingdom’s first manufacturing facility to be awarded the IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) Revision 02 certification.

In 2009, the TT electronics facilities in Rogerstone, UK and Suzhou, China successfully achieved the IRIS rail standard 01 – a globally recognized certification that qualifies component manufacturers to work with railway equipment manufacturers, system integrators, assemblers, and their suppliers. The Suzhou site boasts being the first manufacturing facility in China to be awarded with IRIS.

Established in 2005 by the Association of the European Railway Industries (UNIFE), IRIS was created to develop and implement a global system with uniform language, uniform assessment guidelines, and mutual acceptance of audits for the evaluation of companies supplying to the railway industry in order to create a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain.
